The Center has handled thousands of
consultation cases, with topics mainly concentrating on: WTO rules
and China’s promises for entry into the WTO, implementation
of the aforesaid promises, conflicts between policies and statutes
in effect and the promises as well as adjustments to them, influences
on domestic industries caused by China’s accession to the
WTO, and other business and legal matters.
Professionals in the Center are frequently invited to make speeches
introducing Guangdong’s adjustments to WTO rules and giving
on-the-spot answers to inquiries about policies connected therewith,
for instance, during the Japanese-funded Enterprise Symposium held
by the Japanese Consulate General to Guangzhou and the Japan Chamber
of Commerce of Guangzhou and at luncheons given by Hong Kong members
in the China Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce of Guangdong.
