The first Council is composed
of 95 members who come respectively from 68 units, such as concerned
government departments, educational and research institutions, enterprises,
social organizations, other consultation institutions and so forth.
The Center pools the wisdom from various professionals, which also
represent opinions from all walks of life. Thus a working network
on the provincial scale has been formed. The present head of the Council
is Mr. Liang Weifa, head of the Guangdong Foreign Trade and Economics
Department. Mr. Tang Bingquan, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province,
is emeritus head of the Council. Mr. Long Yongtu, Vice Minister of
the China Foreign Trade and Economics Department, is senior consultant
of the Council.
The Council is comprised of several expert teams in charge of related
affairs for their respective fields. The Center often consults them
on professional issues.
Since the Council was set up, it has been fully engaged in contacting
concerned departments, integrating resources, sharing information,
coordinating action, consulting in policy-making and supervising work
and has become a crucial source of talent for the Center.
